Can you please tell me how to get a tropical plant aqurium going. an i live in the tropics so the place is hot?

What would I really be needing to set up a planted tropical aqurium? Got two fancy goldfish 2 fighters 2 pelcos(the one that don't grow big). Its a 15 gal tank. Where can I get a lid for it or how to make one?
