How do I know if I am ready to leave my verbally abusive husband?

i understand your husband very well - u just annoy him very much. it is not your fault. there re types of people which would annoy u with no reason. they will sit there and be silent and it alone can annoy u. for strangers u can have self control and block it. but with the one who u interact on every day basis u can not block it all the time. so u either yell all the time and be aggravated or u bottle it in and then sooner or later it will get out in the form of this awful arguing u have with your husband. it is not your fault, u do not do anything wrong. u just annoy him very much and there is nothing any of u can do. the only right choice for u is to leave him and find someone who will love u for what u re and every move of yours will excite him. even if u get lost and mess up everything this man will have compion for u, not anger. also with that level of self control i really wonder how can your husband be in a military.
