My cat keeps waking me up!?

My Cat Always wakes me up at about 1 AM. He Always pounces on me and he climbs up the curtains. If I put him in another room, he just opens the handle and comes back. And if I put him outside, he keeps meowing for me to let him in. If I do, then he just keeps doing it; What should i do?
