Help, my lilac bush is sitting in a huge puddle of water because of the rain?

We planted a lilac bush last year and it has tiny buds on it so I know it is healthy, but we've had so much rain that it is sitting in a huge puddle of water. Do you think the roots will rot? I didn't realize that this area of my yard was a low spot because we moved in recently. Any recommendations of what to do? Thanks in advance
