You opened a door that should of remained shut contacting him through myspace was Innocent enough but it's led to a renewal of a relationship at least for him. A person can clean their act up and the more power to them. However he was violent and abusive with you. One thing you didn't mention but is also probably true he like control. And he wants control over your life again. Look I'm happy for the guy if he kicked these addictions that great but that doesn't necessary mean he is going to be a saint.
