Does rheumatoid arthritis go into remission without medicine?

My doc said I have Rheumatoid arthritis. I had all the symptoms. Couldn't get out of bed in the morning. My feet, knees. back, arms, and hands all hurt very bad. I could barely get around. I never went to a rheumatologist because I dont have insurance. He put me on Prednisone and it was a miracle drug. I quit takin it once and symptoms returned in 4 days. This time I quit it to see if my symptoms came back and its been almost 2 week and I have no symptoms. So could I be in remission without meds or what?
